Fire Station Dedication  2005

Mutual aid fire stations begin arriving for the dedication.  Above is Lehigh Valley International Airport Fire Department. Paula and Kristin serving birch beer.

The 'crew' and guests during the ceremony. Fire Department President and Asst. Chief Barry Frantz offers opening remarks.

Members of EAFD salute during the National Anthem.

Crowd rises to their feet to applaud.

Congressman Charlie Dent offers words of congratulations. State Representative Craig Dally conveys support.

Township Supervisor Dr. Jerry Odenwelder, Ph.D., provides a historic perspective on the dedication. Retired EAFD member and former township supervisor Fred Halupka presents a plaque with the Fireman's Prayer.  This was given in the name of the Halupka and Demyan families.

Fire Chief Scott Uhnak displays Fireman's Prayer plaque for audience. Fire Marshal John McDevitt talks about the history of the department and difficulties facing volunteers.

U.S. Congressman Curt Weldon offers the keynote address.  He provided a very moving talk on the volunteer fire service and homeland security initiatives from a congressional perspective. Former member Ronnie Creyer is recognized for his efforts with the original building in 1979.

Fire Fighter Julie Hamilton, who is also a Major in the Air Force Reserve, presents the fire department with a U.S. Flag she carried with her while she served in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq. Chief Scott Uhnak and President Barry Frantz team up to baptize the building.
