PC Beverage donation 'Boot' raises $10,000

Saturday July 29, 2017 - Firefighters recognize a local business as a Partner in Public Safety

PC Beverage donation boot raises $10-thousand to benefit East Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department. On July 29, a group of firefighters set up displays of fire apparatus and equipment at PC Beverage, 5966 Nor-Bath Blvd, East Allen Township, Bath.

We wanted to recognize and extend our thanks and appreciation to Chick & Liz Leibig, the owners of PC Beverage for ‘The Boot’. Back in late 2009 Chick asked the Fire Department if we were interested in placing a firefighter’s boot at the checkout counter for customers to throw their loose change or donations into.

Needless-to-say we said yes, and the boot has done very well ever since. By May of 2014 the boot had collected $5,000, and this July the boot surpassed the $10,000 mark, and is still going strong.

Of course we also want to extend our gratitude to the many generous customers of PC Beverage who regularly contribute to our support. If all of this weren’t enough, Chick also donates water, soft drinks and ice for use at emergency scenes and public events at the fire station.

Chick & Liz Leibig and PC beverage, you are truly Partners in Public Safety.

Bailout Systems

Friday July 21, 2017 - Four (4) members traveled to Rock-N-Rescue in Butler, PA, to take the train the trainer course for the Sterling FCX Bailout Systems. Members learned the ins and out of the entire system and performed approximately 20-25 bailouts throughout the 10-hour course. In order to pass, members were scored on 2 bailouts, then had to explain the ins and outs of the system to the instructor.

D/C Smith, FF/Medic Butz, FF/EMT Higgins and FF/EMT Schmoyer successfully passed the program and are now certified to teach the use of the system.

Nazareth Area MOMS Club visits EAFD

Friday July 14, 2017 - The Nazareth Area MOMS Club and their preschool children spent part of their morning recently visiting and touring the East Allen Township Fire Department. They got to see firefighter Chad Lutseo gear up and get high-fives from many of the children. They also got to watch Tower 46 demonstrate it capabilities, and those who wanted, got to operate a fire hose. The children, the moms and firefighters all seemed to enjoy the event.

Code 3 for a Cure Foundation

Firefighters United Against Cancer

As Firefighters we know and understand that we face a greater risk of cancer. As a Fire Department we know and understand all too well the pain and suffering cancer brings. Six years ago we said goodbye to two esteemed members who lost their battle with cancer. Since that time we have partnered with the Code 3 For a Cure Foundation — an organization that helps firefighters who are battling cancer, and also brings attention to the issue of firefighter cancer. Please visit their website, and consider supporting their mission. Code 3 for a Cure Foundation
