After more than 7 years of planning, specifications, design, and anticipation, our new Engine is officially complete at Pierce Manufacturing!

Four members traveled to Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin, to conduct the final inspection of the apparatus. During the visit, we thoroughly reviewed everything from the paint and graphics, plumbing, compartments, equipment, and individual components. A complete pump test and road test were also conducted to verify that the apparatus operates as designed and meets our expectations.

This new Engine represents a significant investment in our department and a substantial improvement in our firefighting capabilities. It will replace our current 28-year-old pumper, bringing several important upgrades to our fleet.
Some of the key features include:

💧 2,000-gallon water tank, nearly tripling the capacity of our current 750-gallon pumper.

🫧 Onboard foam system to support fire suppression operations involving both structural fires and flammable liquids.

🔥 Enhanced water supply and fire suppression capabilities, with its primary mission remaining structural and general fire suppression.

While completing the final inspection is an exciting milestone, there is still work ahead before the new Engine can officially go into service. Tool and equipment mounting must be completed, and our members will undergo comprehensive training to become familiar with the apparatus, its systems, and its capabilities. Our priority is ensuring that every member is prepared to operate this equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently when called upon.

We would also like to extend a special thank-you to our salesman, Rob Macchia, for going above and beyond throughout this project.

This is more than just replacing an aging fire engine. It represents years of planning, a significant investment in our department, and a commitment to providing the residents and businesses of East Allen Township with the best possible fire protection.

We’re one step closer to bringing the new Engine 46 home! Stay tuned as we move through the final stages of preparation and training before putting it into service.
